Yay! I returned from a weekend away and discovered that my phone line, which had no dial tone following the previous Friday's storm, is working again. I can now cancel the service call for Thursday (the first available time they had, set for two weeks after the problem began - Screw U Verizon!). This is great since I'm on vacation this week and wanted to be able to play on the internet without having to go into work.

It was great to meet you as well! I'm sorry that we didn't get a chance to hang out and do any gaming, but I'm very glad that we did read some of the dreaded "Eye of Argon." If I go next year, I'm definitely up for another go at it. I'm looking forward to getting to know you on LJ. What games besides Settlers do you most enjoy? Do you go to any SF cons?

(Btw, pursuant to your actual post above, I should have added: Verizon reminds me of the old Lily Tomlin joke about "We're the phone company. We don't care; we don't have to!" In my experience, they put the "U" in "FU"...and not in that good way that we all know and love. I'm using them mostly because the other options around here are even worse and I would have to pay $175 to get out of the bloody contract.)

Let's see...getting to know me on LJ. I wish you luck with that. ;> I'm terrible at posting with any frequency. I actually checked--I was saddened to see that in two years I've posted ~3 pages worth of stuff, and much of that was deadly dull for most people--i.e., the stuff from when I was food journalling: "Breakfast: 1 bowl oatmeal, 1/2 banana, 3.1415926535897932384 tbsp of honey...."

Games that I like. Hmm. Hey, here's a radical concept: I could post!

I loved that routine! Lily Tomlin is simply hilarious! I first remember her from Laugh In where she did a number of memorable characters "And that's the truth... bthththth!" I thought that her one woman show was simply amazing. And of course her movie work in Nine to Five and All of Me always get me laughing out loud. Most recently, I saw her in a bizzare indie film called I Heart Huckabees in which she and Dustin Hoffman play existential detectives. I found it to be very funny, but one must definitely like that sort of thing in order to enjoy it.
