Poor kitty

My poor kitty hasn't eaten anything for the last 7 days. He's still been drinking water and was able to keep down meat puree baby food over the weekend. I took him to the Vet today and he seems to be having kidney issues. His kidneys were reduced in size on the X-ray and there were no other observable abnormalities. Blood tests will come back tomorrow and then we'll know the extent of it. He's down to 5.3 pounds from his normal weight of 8.5!!! He's only 10.5 yo but he keeps having problems that are typical of much older cats. It makes me wonder if the shelter that I got him from 9 years ago didn't have accurate info on his age. He was given plenty of fluids and is now home resting comfortably. I'm to stop giving him antibiotics for UTI since that doesn't seem to be addressing the issue and will call tomorrow for further instructions. I have no problem with the idea of giving him fluids at home if it comes to that. I just want him to feel better and start eating again!
