I've been Monday-ed!

After spending the majority of the weekend working on my grant proposal and enduring heinous grad-school-inspired, working-every-weekend flashbacks, I came in today to discover that the granting agency (The Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation) has decided to cancel this round of grant submissions due to fundraising issues. This sucks! Well, I guess the good news is that I can use what I've done already for the next grant submission...

Alas, no. We've just received an announcement that NIH is experiencing a budget shortfall this year (due to the war and the hurricanes) and will be funding all noncompeting renewals by approximately 80% of the total budget for the year. Check out NOT-OD-06-014 on the NIH website as this may affect you, too.

*Oooof* That wicked sucks! Thank goodness I'm pretty sure I can cut our microarray costs in half or so for next year. Should help some. Much with the suckage, though.

Sorry to hear about the cancelation, but it does sound like you have the proper make lemonade out of lemons argument.
