I'm a proud Tivo owner, I got the basic box hooked up here, the "40hrs" model. If you have broadband internet, you can network the Tivo and actually transfer programs to a computer so you can burn them to DVD. That is the main advantage over the comcast DVR which I'm sure jenn_girl, phillyvixen or dreamingbear and chemicallcrow can speak on at great length since they use that service all the time.
