Youthful Idealism
Jul. 9th, 2006 09:37 pmI went shopping at PETCO today and asked an employee a question about the Friskies wet catfood that they sell there. She made a face and began to lecture me about the evils of feeding wet food to cats and recommended that I at least get the Science Diet wet food since I had a bag of Science Diet dry food in my hand. She had launched into a rant about her experience as an Animal Rescue volunteer about finding cats with bad teeth due to wet food diets, when I asked my question again. She then replied that she didn't know the answer and located another floor person who could help me. At know time did she try to engage me about what I thought or why I had made the choices that I have for my cat. I did buy a can of the Science Diet wet food to see if Sawyer will like it, and looked for her to tell her that while I didn't agree with her delivery, I did take what she had to say seriously. But alas, I could not locate her again, so I left. I was impressed with her idealism, but left shaking my head about her longevity in working at the store.
