Things are looking up
Sep. 22nd, 2005 10:24 amYesterday, I gave an invited seminar on my research for the Biology Dept at St Joseph's University. Everything went very well and they took me out for a nice dinner afterwards. I passed out recruiting material for our graduate programs and networked with the faculty. It was fun! I was surprisingly nervous beforehand, which I think was due to it not being on my home turf with an audience of mainly undergrads, so I had to revise my talk to make sure that I covered all the basics.
We got word that another paper we had submitted was accepted to the Journal of Neurotrauma! Hooray!
The cable serviceman actually came this morning during the expected time slot and fixed the annoying problem that I was having by swapping out my new cablebox with another one. It seems that the box that they had given me last week to fix the other problems was the cause of this one. So now everything works fine!
Our major grant is due October 1st, and everyone is still speaking to one another, so things are looking up!
